There are technical limitations to what an app can do without root access. While we try to provide the most convenient way to share phone Internet, it is not always possible. A regular WiFi Hotspot. It might not work with certain devices.

. FoxFi/WiFi Hotspot Mode (the older)
You can still access the original WiFi Hotspot feature in the FoxFi app if you need it. It no longer works on newer models of phones due to carrier updates. Even if it does work, hotspot usage might still be limited (see plan 2 below). iFi Direct Hotspot may solve both of these issues. The new feature doesn’t support TVs, game devices or streaming TVs.

You can also use the “WiFi Share” feature to turn Windows into a WiFi Hotspot, so you can share PdaNet Internet access with other devices. *If your computer does not recognize your phone after connecting USB,
Bluetooth mode can be used to connect to Windows. WiFi Direct mode is preferable.
What software do I need?
Since 2003, the PdaNet software was available on Treo smartphones. It has been downloaded over 30,000,000 times. It all depends on what kind of data plan your phone has. There are four types of data plans offered by most carriers.
1. Your data plan (limited, unlimited or unlimited) doesn’t allow you to activate the mobile hotspot feature. It prompts you for assistance by calling your carrier.
2. Your data plan is unlimited and you can use your phone’s mobile hotspot to access it. T hotspot usage can be “metered” to a limit of 5G per month. Ter that your speed will be slowed to a crawl. This is something that oxi cannot avoid!
3. Your data plan is unlimited and you can set up a mobile hotspot using your phone. There are no caps on LTE usage or throttles. Is. It is NOT available or intended. We have seen loopholes in some phones models that allow this.
4. You can use your data plan to access a mobile hotspot via your phone. You can use mobile hotspots within the same data plan limits. PdaNet+ is required if your plan falls within 1 or 2. PdaNet+ won’t make any difference if your project falls under 3 or 4. If you aren’t sure what plan you have, it won’t hurt you to continue using PdaNet+.
The free edition of PdaNet+ has a time limit and is otherwise the same as the full version. Sprint and AT&T may not allow you to install our app from Play Store, please install the apk file directly from http://pdanet.co/install or install from the computer side.
