Let your Android device do the repetitive tasks. Total automation, from Settings to SMS.
These are just a few examples of what Tasker can do. Tasker’s true power lies in its ability to mix contexts and tasks as you please.
Your phone can be an smartphone. Your phone will automatically adjust the volume for you, so why do you have to remember to turn it down every day?
Automate stuff based upon the app you are currently in, your location, time of day, received SMS or calls, current song, and many other (130+!) states and events
You can customize your phone with over 350 actions! You can send SMS and create notifications. Change any setting, such as wifi Tether, Dark Mode or Always On Display. Open apps. File manipulation. Control music playback. Get your location. If you think of it, Tasker can do it for your!
Not all functions require root. I repeat, root is not required. Some actions (like the Airplane Mode and Mobile Data actions on certain devices) do require root. Android security policies are not something developers can work around.
Automatic File Backups
Tasker will automatically back up your files to the SD card, USB key, or Google Drive if you have it set up. This allows you to protect your files even if your phone is lost.
You can manually trigger your actions using launcher shortcuts. Quick setting tiles, widgets. Long-pressing volume buttons. Media buttons (like those on your BT headsets), Bixby button. Navigation Bar. Notifications.
Adding Join (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.join) to the mix will even allow you to trigger tasks from another Android device or PC!
Create your UI design and use it for any information you need or to trigger any task!
You can create standalone apps that you can share or sell using the Tasker App Factory
Many third-party developers allow you to do actions in their apps, and to listen to their events/states via Tasker.
Take a look at some of these!
Tasker can also be called with the powerful HTTP request and HTTP Auth actions. You can see an example video of HTTP Auth or Request
